As we transition into Fall, excitement builds to get cozy and rush out to buy all the new Fall finds. It's true—Fall is an irresistible vibe.
In my own home, I've been in edit mode, trying to donate or use the decor I already have. I simply don't need more stuff. I've been striving to buy more responsibly, focusing on purchasing only what we actually need. I'm also practicing the ability to appreciate something without needing to own it. It works surprisingly well once you get into it. If I find myself thinking about an item days later, I'll then consider the purchase.
If I'm on the fence, I've been asking myself, 'Does it inspire joy and/or positively contribute to the community?' If not, I'm easing into letting things go into the abyss of things I can appreciate but don't need to own.
That said, all this changing creative energy needs to express itself!
Let's explore this season's vibe;
the SATURATED PALETTE
This trend has been gaining steam and seems to be here for a while. Paint color is back, with tone on tone, saturated palettes of dusty tones like those in the Savoir office of Netflix's Emily in Paris. (left)
Speaking of Emily in Paris, that dusty purple palette is going strong. There is some debate over what color that is. I think it's custom color but also similar to William Morris Pineberry, or Marble V by Paint and Paper Library.
Earthy neutrals and warm, grounded shades like terracotta, olive green, aubergine, and muted grays. Painted tone on tone millwork, with saturated ceiling color.
Organic plaster techniques with vibrant stone accents. Lime washed walls that bring artistic atmosphere to your walls. (Love Kalklitir lime paint)

Layered Textures
Combining different materials like wool, velvet, and jute creates a cozy, tactile space.
Dark Woods & Organic Materials
Dark walnut and natural wood finishes are trending, combined with raw, organic materials like stone, clay, and linen, reflecting a natural, grounded aesthetic.
Maximalist Curves
Furniture with curved silhouettes continues to rise in popularity, offering a sense of softness and flow. Expect rounded sofas, circular mirrors, and arches in interior architecture.

Statement Lighting
Sculptural and oversized lighting fixtures are key in Fall 2024. Think chandeliers and pendant lights that act as both illumination and art pieces, often in matte black or antique brass finishes.
Vintage Revival
Mid-century modern and retro-inspired décor with a modern twist is trending. Vintage furniture paired with contemporary pieces brings a unique, nostalgic touch.
Warm Metallic Accents
Metals like copper, bronze, and gold will bring a touch of warmth and elegance, showing up in hardware, lighting, and decor accents.
Indoor Gardens and Biophilic Design
Plants and greenery are key components, bringing nature indoors. Biophilic designs that integrate natural elements, from large potted plants to living walls, add freshness and a sense of calm.
Artisan Craftsmanship
Handcrafted, one-of-a-kind furniture and investment decor items like original art, focusing on sustainability and craftsmanship, favoring local artisans over mass production.
And there you have it. These trends balance the cozy, welcoming vibes of fall with a strong emphasis on sustainability, natural materials, and bold personal statements.
But wait!! One more thing!
